The Commander on the other hand does not drop their Equipment when they die, and instead will resurrect automatically at the Headquarters after 3 turns with all their equipment. They can be brought back to life by the player who originally recruited them using the Hero Resurrection Protocol Strategic Operation. When heroes die, they drop all their Equipment (but not their mods) on the hex they died. This setting can be changed in the advanced setup for a game. Heroes gain 5 skill points every level past the first level, and by default are capped at level 20. Heroes of all races by default have 50, 3, 0, & 32. ![]() Unlike normal units, they don't have an Upkeep cost. Additionally, new heroes will come to you as the game progresses and will offer their service for a small payment. These are kept in the Arsenal, and if a Hero owns a particular piece of equipment they no longer need, they can sell it. Theses are also the only units that can equip Equipment, which includes Weapons & Vehicles that can completely change their Abilities and which Mods these units can use. The great number of Skills they have to choose from when they level up makes them a very important type of Unit. Heroes are talented individuals with the possibility to specialize and buff your armies.
